Grey Parrot - Branding & Website

Challenge

In Africa, security is far more at the forefront of peoples' minds than it is here in the UK. The challenge was to create a brand built around 'localisation' ie the website and brand needed to have the look and feel of an African company not to look like 90 percent of other sites in Africa that hat a distinct US or UK feel.

Thinking

In Africa business if very much about the relationships you have. This is how deals are done at a local level. So creating a website that is clean and simple to use, which de-complicates both the subject and the ability for the company to engage with its customers who are using or want to use the products was critical. So this had to be a 'jargon-free' environment which gave immense credibility, the impression of 'seeing things through' and delivering on its various services to customers.

Result

We've created a responsive (visible on mobile device ie tablet and smartphone) website which is both simple for the visitor to navigate and easy for the clients to update through our own CMS. The brand is based upon the cheeky native African Grey Parrot to give an indigenous feel to the brand. Colours are bright and distinctive - deliberately more so than comparative UK/US brands - because colour increases brand recognition by 80 percent. And brand recognition links directly to consumer confidence. We have chosen colours which harness the huge psychological influence of colour... for example orange is used on all e-commerce pages as it is knows as a  'compulsive' colour which positively affects conversions.
